Petrenko O. Hygienic aspects of iodine deficient diseases in the region of light iodine deficiency

Thesis is devoted to the hygienic aspects of iodine deficient diseases in the region of light iodine deficiency. Makariv region, Kyiv oblast was selected for the investigations. It was determined that a content of iodine in the foodstuffs of local produce and drinking water was decreased. Indices of ioduria among the pupils correspond to the light iodine deficiency, frequency of struma - to the middle severity. It was revealed that a presence of strum in the pregnant affected the appearance of attendant pathology, anemia and risk of abortion in particular, thyroid status and mental development of born children in 6-10 years. It was determined that presence of thyroid pathology affected negatively mental development and indices of attention among the children under conditions of light iodine deficiency. A high efficiency of dietary addition "Barba-iod" for prophylaxis and correction of iodine deficiency was proved. Practical recommendations were elaborated on the ground of performed study, methodical recommendations were prepared and presented for adoption, information letters were elaborated and introduced taking into account the factual state of the problem.
