Getmanets І. Man and world in A.S. Makarenko's literary work

The object of the thesis is the literary heritage of A. Makarenko in the social and cultural context of Ukraine of the 20-30-es years of the XX century. The aim of the thesis is the objective analysis of A. Makarenko's literary heritage in the light of humanistic ideals and the overcoming of vulgar- sociological concepts formed in the Soviet criticism. Methods used in the research are biographical, socially-genetical, comparative typological, method of system analysis. The novelty of the thesis is in the attempt for the first time to consider Makarenko's literary work in the social and cultural context of Ukraine of the 20-30-es years of the XX century; Ukrainian discourse is analyzed for the first time, problematics and poetics are considered from the contemporary point of view, the existing positive opinion about the novel "Flags on the Towers" is reappraised. The results of the research conducted may be applied by historians of Russian and Ukrainian literatures and also by teachers of philological departments within the general literature courses, special courses and seminars dedicated to A. Makarenko's literary heritage. Department - philology
