Remennyk O. Risk assessment and prevention system for work-related bronchi and lungs cancer

One of actual health problems is risk assessment of morbidity of workers with work-related bronchi and lungs cancer (BLC) and scientific grounding of preventing this pathology in Ukraine The conducted epidemiological, hygienic and clinical studies resulted in establishing regularities, related to the population morbidity of bronchi and lungs cancer (BLC). There have been determined individual and population cancer risks and relative risks of morbidity of BLC in workers of selected productions of Ukraine (mining and processing of granite and road metal, mining coal, asphalt and bitumen, coal-chemical and rubber-technical productions). Prognostic criteria (hygienic and clinical) of BLC development in patients with chronic pathology of respiratory organs of dust genesis have been defined and the efficiency of primary prophylaxis of work-related BLC have been assessed. 3-step prevention system for work-related BLC has been scientifically grounded, which corresponds to national legislation and international WHO and ILO recommendations.
