This thesis is devoted to the research of deeply psychological sources of religious belief which was executed with the use of empirical material of active social-psychological study. The peculiarities of the authentic and non-authentic manifestations of the religious belief of the subject were disclosed. It was proved that the displays of non-authentic religious belief is a consequence of the personal problem of the subject (inner conflict) which is reflected in such external manifestations as idealization of the proper "I", psychological impotence, psychological death and so on. The necessity of execution of psychological correction was grounded with the purpose of evening-out the destructive tendencies of a believer's state of mind which will allow him
