Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the research of systems of giving of sand of locomotives, search of possibilities of increase of their efficiency. Theoretical researches of movement of particles of sand on a way to a place of contact of a wheel with a rail have been executed. Has received the further development mathematical modelling of movement of particles of sand under the influence of air stream. Recommendations about fractional structure of used sand depending on speed of movement of the locomotive and existing weather conditions are formulated. In work the design of the device for sand giving in area of contact of a wheel with a rail which provides possibility of regulation of quantity of sand and speed of movement of its particles, depending on a mode of operation of the locomotive, for maintenance of stability of its traction characteristics is offered. Experimental researches of influence of separate design data of the device on efficiency of delivery of sand in area of contact of a wheel with a rail have been executed.
