Dissertation is devoted to analysis of transformations, appearing in the field of family relations in Ukrainian society. Main attention is concentrated on the problems of asymmetry of domestic statuses. Alluding to the results of sociological research, an author demonstrates, that the hierarchy of statuses of family members has tendencies to transformation. Basic tendency of status and role changes of modern Ukrainian family—from traditional patriarchal family to egalite family.
