Rudnik A. Pharmacognostic study of balsamic poplars from ukrainian flora

Complex phytochemical researches of the six species of balsamic poplars (P. balsamifera L., P. trichocarpa Torr. Gray., P. laurifolia Ledeb., P. simonii Carr., P. suaveolens Fisch., P. Х berolinensis Dipp.), cultivated in Ukraine were carried out. 22 phenolic compounds, 164 compounds of volatile oil, 16 aminoacids, 10 fatty acids, 19 micro- and macroelements were identified at first time. Quantitative analisys of tannins, organic and hydroxycinnamomic acids, flavonoids in the buds, leaves and bark of six species of balsamic poplars were carried out. A quantitative content of lipophylic substances, chlorophils and carotinoids in organs of P. simonii Carr. was established. Dynamic of accumulations of biologically active substances in organs of P. simonii Carr. was studied and optimal terms on their harvest have been determined. The main morpho-anatomical diagnostic characteristics of the buds, leaves and bark of P. simonii Carr. have been determined. Technology of the extracts from buds and leaves of P. simonii Carr. has been made. On the base of pharmacological research it has been established that extracts has reparative, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, diuretic and antimicrobal activity.
