The investigation object: NO-dependent mechanisms of the intestinal damage and restoret. The investigation goal: determining the role of NO-synthase i system and peroxynitrite in the regulation of oxidative processes in tissues of small intestine and its barrier function in the dynamics of acute small bowel obstruction (ASBO). Methods of research: experimental, biochemical, morphological. The research shows the activity of NO-synthase affects superoxide anion-radical production in tissues of rats' small intestine under ASBO. Selective inhibition of iNOS restricts intestinal barrier dysfunction and reduces the risk of translocation of microorganisms and their decay products out of the intestine. The application of L-arginine and peroxynitrite scavenger L-selenomethionine limits in small intestine lipid peroxidation activation, energy quotient falling, and improves the intestinal barrier. Introduction of L-arginine with surgical suture material accelerates the healing process in the paravulnare tissues in the small intestinal anastomosis area. The degree of implementation: patent, practical innovation.
