Object - process of teaching of senior pupils; aim - to determine the impact of the theoretically and experimentally grounded pedagogical conditions on the developed informational competence of senior pupils; the methods - theoretical, empirical, statistical; novelty - for the first time the pedagogical conditions of developing informational competence of senior pupils in the process of learning (ensuring that the teachers continuously improve their informational competence as well as acquire the techniques of developing this competence in pupils; creating a favorable informational and educational environment covering logistical, content-rich, managerial and communicative components meeting the individual informational needs of each pupil) have been grounded and experimentally verified; it has specified the gist of the notion "senior pupils informational competence" as a new personality formation comprising knowledge, skills, personal qualities enabling promptly to find, correctly analyze and effectively process information as well as use it in real-life activity; it has specified the criteria (cognitive, procedural, personality and reflexive) and indices of the levels of senior pupils informational competence development; further development has been given to the forms, methods and means of providing for an informational and educational environment in the process of teaching senior pupils; the results are implemented in a special course "Informational competence of senior pupils: theory and methodics" for students of higher pedagogical educational institutions of the 3rd and 4th accreditation levels and methodical recommendations; field - pedagogics
