Essay

The thesis represents results of the research on identifying specific features of growth and development of crops, dynamics of production process, seed and biomass yield, output of dry matter, oil, protein and bioenergy from the raw material of spring oilseeds depending on peculiarities of each species. The research also concerned the influence of elements of growing technology on productivity of spring rapeseed and oilseed radish under conditions of the Ukrainian Forest-Steppe. During the study, the highest seed yield among oilseed crops was observed in spring rapeseed (2.72 t/ha) and white mustard (2.57 t/ha). The largest biomass output was received from such crops as oilseed radish (9.95 t/ha) and spring rapeseed (8.08 t/ha). Among trial variants of spring rapeseed and oilseed radish, the maximal seed yield was achieved with the seeding rate 1.3 mil seeds per ha and the row spacing 15 cm. Application of mineral fertilizers at the rate N90P60K105 ensures a maximal seed yield (2.14 t/ha) for oilseed radish. Qualitative characteristics of main and minor products of spring oilseed crops were studied. Economic and energy evaluation of spring oilseeds was done according to the features of each species and elements of their growing technology.
