The dissertation dwells upon the process of development of legal system of Ukraine-Hetmanshchyna of the second half of the XVII – 80’s of the XVIII century. The research was carried out on formation and genesis of the principal elements of legal system at that period, its inner structure and formation source were studied. The problem of use of the principal legal sources, existing in Ukraine-Hetmanshchyna, namely customary law, German town law, Statute of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania of 1588 etc. was examined.
