The method of twist extrusion as a way to consolidate the metal noncompact material to create short and long-powder blanks with high density and sufficient strength was further developed in this thesis. It was experimentally and theoretically investigated the influence of the back pressure and the accumulated strain on the properties of noncompact blanks after the twist extrusion. It was shown that at a sufficient level of back pressure the TE process allows to compact the powders up to the theoretical values (97 - 99.6%) of relative density. The stability of the process of semi-continuous twist extrusion of powder materials was investigated. It was shown that lower threshold value of backpressure must be ensured for a steady behavior of the process. Based on studies, the technology which provides long-length consumable electrodes made of titanium sponge for the production of titanium by the chamber electroslag remelting has been developed. Application of this technology instead of conventional improved the quality of the electrodes, increase the output of cast titanium for one cycle of melting and significantly reduce its cost.
