Comparative analysis of peculiarities of social-political transformations in Ukraine and Russian Federation in contemporary public opinion is made in thesis. Specifically the author systematized main theoretical-methodological basis of transformational processes in Ukraine and in Russia and studied main sources and state of scientific development of theme. Peculiarities of initial stage of transformations, its development and results in public opinion's estimations and relation of Ukrainian and Russian citizens to implementation of liberal-marketable model and basis of civil society are considered in the work.
