Essay

The author has described the structure of educational motivation and characterized the correlation between its components; clarified peculiarities in motivation of primary school pupils, revealed the patterns of their motivational sphere development in the course of elementary school; revealed the essence of the motivational component in elementary school textbooks. The complex of methods for analyzing the motivational component of textbooks aimed for primary school pupils has been substantiated. It has been suggested to analyze primary school textbooks in following areas: emotional appeal of study material, didactic ways of its organization, textbook design. Specific criteria have been assigned for each area.
