Korkishko V. Chronotop of road in N. V. Gogol's works: semantics and stylistic functions.

Nature and stylistic approaches in description of stylistic functions of the chronotop of road in N. V. Gogol's works have been analyzed in the thesis. Peculiarities of functioning of stylistic chronotop and spatial and temporal model of road in the world culture and literature have been considered. The specificity of the chronotop of road and its functions in N. V. Gogol's prose has been studied. Particularly the chronotop of Nevskiy Prospect in the writer's "Petersburg text" has been analyzed; the representation of border space has been characterized; the folklore basis, plot-building, form-formation, symbolic stylistic functions of temporal and spatial coordinates of road in the author's literary heritage has been shown. The archetype of road in the writer's conscience and the spectrum of biblical symbolism in his works have been revealed.
