It was found, that regular blood donations are accompanied by the development of iron deficiency, which can proceed in the form of latent iron deficiency or iron deficiency anemia. The level of iron deficiency depends on the donor experience length and number of donations. Indicators of the content of ferritin and transferrin in serum and the content of iron in washed erythrocytes are the most significant for the detection of iron deficiency.
