Levakina T. Semantic Differentiation and Functioning of Sociative Prepositions in the Ukrainian Language

In this thesis a comprehensive research of sociative prepositions has been made for the first time in the Ukrainian language. The essence of the notion "sociativity" has been cleared up, sociative meaning in the system of prepositional relations has been checked. 190 prepositions of sociative semantics have been registered and systematized according to a "field" principle in 8 microfields, the place of every microfield in the limits of sociative field has been substantiated. The degree of prepositionalisation of new derivatives of sociative prepositions has been established. Functional-stylish features of sociative prepositions have been found out by examples of colloquial, fiction, journalistic, official manner styles in modern Ukrainian literary language.
