Essay

Subject of the research: syndrome of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) with II d. hypertensive discirculatory encephalopathy (HDE). Purpose: to improve efficiency of diagnostics and treatment tactics of cognitive disorders in elderly patients with HDE on the basis of complex clinico-neuropsychological and neurophysiologic examination. Methods: clinical, neurological, neurophysiologic, experimental-psychological, statistical. Novelty: рatients on HDE with the syndrome of MCI have worsening of the level of attention, short-term and of long-term verbal (logical and associative) memory as well as (associative, visual-spatial and figural) memory, executive regulatory functions are affected. The study reveals the increase of relative power of theta-rhythm, and decline of relative power and frequency of the beta-rhythm. As a result of the re-examination of the group of elderly patients with hypertensive discirculatory encephalopathy, there was established a conversion of the MCI syndrome into a dementia within three years with 35,3% of the group's patients overall, with those amnestic MCI - at 55%, multi-domain - at 34,8% and non-amnestic - at 15,8% . There were shown possibilities of correcting mild cognitive impairments with nootropic drugs (picamilon, pyracetam, pramistar).
