Essay

The dissertation discusses prose writings of contemporary Ukrainian authors from a narratological viewpoint. This is the first attempt at holistic approach to works by S. Andrukhovych, L. Deresh, T. Malyarchuk, S. Pyrkalo, N. Snyadanko, M. Sokolyan. The work provides generalizations on themes and problems in contemporary Ukrainian prose fiction and discusses stylistic peculiarities of individual authors as well as the types of narrator used in their works (heterodiegetic and homodiegetic).
