Chornous O. Dynamics of personal names in Kirovograd in the XXth century.

The system of personal names in the city of Kirovograd (Elysavetgrad) has been investigated and analyzed and the dynamics of their qualitative and quantitative changes in the XXth century has been clarified in this thesis. 538 male and 544 female names (29 785 usages) constitute the basis of the research. Special attention has been payed to the etymological component of the local roster of personal names, specifically to the variability and frequency of use of the fixed names. The research has clarified mutual interaction and interference of Orthodox, Lutheran, Catholic and Judean naming systems in Kirovograd during the last century. Based on the results of this research the thesaurus of male and female names and the tables of their frequency of use have been compiled
