The aim of this research is the elucidation of etiopathogenesis of iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) as well as scientific substantiation of the use of Hemocord at the abovementioned pathology. There were analyzed the course of pregnancy, labors, state of newborns in the 98 women with IDA if compared with physiological pregnancy course. There have been studied the state of oxidative-anti-oxidant and immune homeostatsis, levels of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines, morphology of placentas in all the groups of pregnant women. Unfavorable effect of IDA on pregnancy, labors and state of fetus has been established. It has been proved that the proposed method of pathogenetic therapy using Hemocord preparation improves an immune status, contributes to the rise of the efficiency of conservative anti-anemic treatment, reduction of its duration, and prevents the appearance of complications and recurrences in pregnant women with IDA. The revealed changes resulted in the increased cases of such pathologies as miscarriage and threat of abortion, placental insufficiency, fetus distress syndrome, asphyxia of newborns, increased morbidity. Pathogenetically substantiated method of IDA treatment in pregnant women and its efficiency if compared with traditional methods was developed
