Object - critical heritage of V.G. Korolenko, presented by his articles, letters, diaries; purpose - to give the complete analysis of literary and critical works of Korolenko in the context of the literary process of the mid-XIX - early XX century; methods - descriptive, social-genetic, historical and functional methods, method of systems analysis; novelty - for the first time the critical activity of Korolenko has been a subject of special studies, for the first time Korolenko's manuscripts which contain some important material for objective analysis of his views are introduced into scientific practice, some materials that characterize the attitude of Korolenko to contemporary writers, as well as the classics of Russian literature are analyzed from a new angle ; results - the materials can be used in the lecture courses on the history of Russian literature, special courses and special seminars, which topics are related to the study of literature of the mid XIX - early XX century and the creative personality of Korolenko; brunch - philology
