Work is devoted to the research of originality of artistic embodiment of women's emancipation in works of P.D. Boborykin, to the research typology an poetry of women's characters created by him and bringing to light, determination of manners its artistic realization in novels "The Evening Victim", stories "like in America", "Sisters Society", "The Corpse". It is proved that the writer was a supporter of women's emancipation, he considered that a woman was to have right for education, work, participation in social life but he didn't accept pseudoemancipation, didn't look at a woman out of family and children, he expressed the hope that "new women" could combine maternal and social duties. It is underlined in the work that the author's innovation concludes in genre, sapid, stylistic searches, in working out of new themes. P.D. Boborykin's innovation is determined by creating of different women's types: woman-mother, woman-victim, woman on the way, woman who is aspiring to become independent from a man, woman who has to be a streetwalker, woman-actress, woman-mistress, "new woman" who is aspiring to selfrealization. The consistent creation of author's ideal of "new woman" is analysed. Key words: emancipation, type of a "new woman", chronotope, composition, psychologism, naturalism, realism, novel, story.
