Kysil'ova E. Peculiarities of the Sketch and Essay Principle in the Prose of S. D. Dovlatov.

The objects are series of short stories and novellas by S. Dovlatov. The aim is to study the genre synthesis in stories and novellas by S. Dovlatov. The methods are systematic approach, historical and literary, biographical, structural and functional. The aim of the thesis is to investigate genre and stylistic peculiarities of S. Dovlatov's prose, the combination of documentation and fiction in it, synthesis of the genres of a short story, a sketch, an essay, an autobiography, and an anecdote. In this paper we characterized the genre interaction, which ensures a successful integration of the documentary and autobiographic principle in the works of the writer, analyzed special features of his portrayal of the 60's-80's of the XX century, investigated the correlation of the norm and absurdity as a distinctive feature of the time period embodied in the works of S. Dovlatov, discovered the function of the author-character image in the narrative structure of his prose. Application spheres are the training courses.
