Essay

The possibility of SCF crystallization of Lu3Al5O12 (LuAG), Tb3Al5O12 (TbAG) and (Eu-Y)3Al5O12 (EuYAG) garnets onto YAG substrates is proved to be realized without any additional doping for reducing the mismatch ?a between the lattice constant of SCF and substrate. The possibility of effective modification of Ce3+ emission spectra in phosphors based on Ce-doped YAG, LuAG and TbAG SCFs for application in various optoelectronic devices is shown. Effective energy transfer from TbAG host to the RE ions (Ce3+, Eu3+) and transition metals (Mn2+) is found in TbAG-based SCF phosphors.
