Essay

It has been examined 197 women having hypertension, obesity and the thyroid dysfunction. It is known that thyroid dysfunction is the initiating factor of manifestation of cardiovascular diseases. To proved the feasibility of screening for TSH to detect thyroid hypofunction in women with metabolic syndrome in the age group over 50 years. The possibility of optimization of lipid lowering therapy, to achieve target levels of lipids in blood: total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol (which increased in 98 % and 97 % females) without increasing doses of statins, and ways to overcome insulin resistance in women with MS and SH, by using combination therapy, namely the addition of an pathogenetically based HRT with statins.
