Essay

This thesis is devoted to the research of administrative and legal grounds of constructing relations between police and public in Europe and between militia and public in Ukraine. Theoretical and legal analysis of researched problem, namely the notions "interaction", "cooperation", "partnership", "public opinion", "image" and "trust" is realized. The aspects of forming cooperation between militia/police and public, their modern progress trends are researched in a historical context. The characteristic features of community policing in Europe are determined. The modern state of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine system functioning in the sphere of community policing is analyzed; the possible ways of improvement in this direction taking into account positive works of police of European countries are grounded.
