Essay

120 patients with arterial hypertension and frequent extrasystolia (E) without significant heart failure were included into the study. Ventricular and combined E was associated with unfavorable blood pressure profile as well as higher enddiastolic left ventricular volume, diastolic dysfunction, aortic valve fibrosis, aorta remodeling, endothelial dysfuction and more prominent lipid disorders. Superventricular E was associated with hypertriglyceridemia, left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and left atrium enlargement. Bisoprolol was less effective in E reduction comparing to sotalol, but higher antihypertensive and antiischemic effects.
