Essay

The scientific paper investigates the reception of fictional works of the English writers Charlotte, Emily and Ann Brontё by Ukraine. The peculiarity of the Ukrainian reception of sisters Brontё's novels is that it began in the thirties of the twentieth century in Western Ukraine with the translation of E.Brontё's novel "Wuthering Heights". Usually the traditional first place was given to Charlotte Brontё's works. Her novel "Jane Eyre" was translated into Ukrainian six years later, in 1939. The critical and translative reception became intensive during the last three decades of the XXth and at the beginning of the XXIst centuries, when new present-day translations of the same novels appeared.
