Essay

The work is dedicated to research of the impact of family, social, medical and biological factors on formation and development of the adolescents' risk behaviour in regard to HIV infection. The paper provides scientific substantiation of the need to enhance the effectiveness of prevention activities in the settings of departments for adolescents that operate using the "youth friendly" approach (Youth Friendly Clinics - YFC). It has been determined that multifactor matrix enables the formation of adolescents risk behaviour in regard to HIV infection. The main social determinant that forms an adolescent's risk behaviour is the unfavourable psychological climate (with parents) at home in a one-parent family, (with teachers and peers) at school, being aggravated by the history of living. Beside the possibility for pediatrician to forecast the development of adolescent risk behaviour in general, it is very important for the clinician to have skills to forecast the degree of manifestation of such behaviour. While conducting the complex assessment of prognostic significance of types of factors that have been studied during the research, it has been found out that use by adolescents of psychoactive substances plays the most important role in formation of the degree of the risk behaviour, followed by social factors, and subsequently - by medical and biological factors. The clear trend has been observed: with development of adolescents' risk behaviour regarding HIV infection and aggravation of its degree, the morbidity related to reproductive sphere and neurological/psychic pathology increases. The conducted research shows that 53.8 per cent of all those examined had required psycho correction. The effectiveness of the preventive medical and social work in settings of YFC with use of multidisciplinary approach resulted in change of HIV risk beaviour of 62.5 per cent of adolescents to the responsible behaviour regarding their own health. Key words: adolescents, risk behaviour regarding HIV infection, principles of "friendly approach" towards youth, YFC, multidisciplinary approach, psychoactive substances, social factors, medical and biological factors.
