The dissertation focuses on the problem of stylistic skills formation in pupils of 3-4 school years in the process of working with different types of texts. Linguistic, psycho-pedagogical and psycholinguistic bases of stylistic skills formation as an important part of junior schoolchildren's speaking competence have been specified; the concept of stylistic skills and their classification have been defined; the criteria of stylistic skills formation in pupils of 3-4 school years have been offered and the levels of their formation have been suggested. Methods of stylistic skills formation in pupils of 3-4 school years in the process of working with different types of texts have been theoretically substantiated, developed and experimentally verified; a lingua-didactic model of stylistic skills phased formation in junior schoolchildren has been worked out. The results of experimental teaching supply dependable grounds to consider the suggested methods effective in the process of stylistic skills formation in teaching the Ukrainian language to the pupils of 3-4 school years.
