Essay

The goal of this work is to improve the treatment of patients with posttraumatic clotted hemothorax by optimizing the diagnosis and improve treatment methods. The results of examination and treatment of 101 patients with posttraumatic hemothorax were analyzed. Established that the most informative in the diagnosis of clotted hemothorax among non-invasive methods are CT scans and among invasive - optical thoracoscopy. Improving the diagnosis and treatment schemes of clotted hemothorax using video-assisted thoracoscopy allowed to achieve reduction of post-operative complications, shortening duration of treatment, improvement of remote consequences.
