Vysotska T. Conjunctions in Ukrainian written records of the XVI–XVIIth cc.: genesis, composition, functions.

The thesis is the first comprehensive research work on conjunctions in the language of Ukrainian XVI–XVIIthc. written records. The paper traces the formation of the system of conjunctions in the Ukrainian language of the period, as well as the ways of complementing to their body. The derivation of conjunctions is described, the types of syntactic relationships they indicate is specified; as well as the place of usage in simple and complex clauses. We have relied on broad factual material – records of different genres of XVI–XVIIth c. written records – and analyzed the dynamics of usage of coordinate and subordinate conjunctions against the background of other Slavic languages of the same period.
