Essay

The object of study: metabolic manifestations of insulin resistance syndrome. The aim of the study: to determine the peculiarity of quercetin influence on the metabolic manifestations of insulin resistance syndrome. The methods of the study: biochemical, biophysical, physiological, pharmacological, immunological, statistics. Theoretical and practical results, scientific novelty: The impact of quercetin on the insulin resistance syndrome metabolic manifestations of different genesis was established for the first time. It was revealed that treatment with quercetin ameliorated insulin resistance and obesity, decreased serum neutral lipids contents, suppressed oxidative stress, prevented proinflammatory and protrombotic states in rats fed with the high caloric diets. Possible molecular mechanism of quercetin cardioprotective effect connected with improvement of bioenergetics processes and suppression of oxidative stress in cardiomyocyte's mitochondria was established. Degree of implantation: The established pharmacological properties of quercetin substantiate it's clinical study as the potential therapeutic agent for the metabolic syndrome prevention and treatment. The sphere of application: endocrinology.
