Thesis presents scientifically grounded methodology of courseware and teaching tools' design for the training of future engineers in Material Science subjects, which provides integration of PC-based teaching tools and instrumental software for solving professional problems in Material Science into the learning environment within the virtual space of an educational establishment. A poly-structural Model of courseware and teaching tools for Material Science subjects is proposed; a central element of it is electronic textbook that provides flexible individualized learning. Experimental pedagogical studies prove the effectiveness of the methodology.
