Object: E. O'Neill's dramas "A Moon for the Misbegotten", "Desire Under the Elms" and their Ukrainian, Russian and Polish translations.Aim: the comparison of the target O'Neill's texts with the original and each other, based on the concept of drama dichotomous nature, directed at the problem of drama translation. Practical significance: the first Ukrainian publication of O'Neill's dramas, the interest of actors of Lviv theaters. Methods: contact-genetic, comparative-historical, comparative and typological, structural and semantic, hermeneutic-interpretative, stylistic analysis of a text.
