Nuzhdak L. Ukrainian proper names in the post-totalitarian era prism ekolinhvistic.

In this work we studied the ekolinhvistic problems of the Ukrainian onomastics after the collapse of the Soviet Republic. We highlighted a number of cultural and spelling problems and recommended solutions. We analyzed approximately 20 thousand examples onomastics from the post-totalitarian era that are from liturgical church books, assembly halls, registry office records, business directories, telephone books, road maps and maps of the settlements of Ukraine. There are problem areas in Ukrainian onomastics well post-totalitarian era caused by the influence of globalization processes such as extra- and intralingual factors, preservation of Russian names, the deviations from the norms of the current “Ukrainian spelling” and legislation of Ukraine.
