Essay

The actual applied scientific problem of technological improvement of ironing of shafts has been solved in order to increase fatigue strength. Mathematical models of elastoplastic deformation of the surface layer and hydrodynamic interaction of an indenter with the surface of a detail, and numerical model of ironing process with CAD/CAE ANSYS were carried out. The results of experiments showed that the calculation error is less thn 8 - 10 %. The nomograms for the choice of ironing force, velosity of the process and oil viscosity in ironing process were drawn. On the basis of the results of theoretical researches the application of additional ultrasonic vibrations for obtaining higher quality of the detail surface layer made of titanium alloys is proposed. The device for ironing with ultrasonic vibrations was designed.On the basis of the theoretical and experimental results new methods and technical solutions were proposed. Modes and metods of ironing based on the results of fatigue tests were analyzed. Results were implemented in JSC Motor Sich and SE Ivchenko-Progress.
