Volkovitska N. The role of legal consciousness in the development of a democratic state of law.

The dissertation is devoted to the research of a role of legal consciousness in development of the modern democratic state of law. The author analyzes theoretical and methodological bases of legal consciousness in a science of the theory of the state and law, gives the complex characteristic of legal consciousness concept as an object of theoretical legal researches, studies historical-and-legal aspects of a phenomenon of legal consciousness analysis. The special attention is given to the analysis of legal consciousness as a strengthening factor of democracy and the state of law, and also to the study of specificity of its structure and functions in the development a civil society and democratic state of law. The author demonstrates the specificity of legal consciousness development in conditions of democratic transits, defines a role of legal consciousness in transformation of an independent Ukraine's legal system, characterizes the basic levels of interrelation between legal consciousness and law system as a whole, investigates deformations of legal consciousness, their causes, and the factors, which influence legal consciousness while democratic transits.
