Essay

Object: the corps of English origin lexemes. Objective: comprehensive description of the of convergence and divergence processes which have accompanied the entering of English lexical borrowings into Czech. Methods: the comparative method, the descriptive method, the comparative-historical method, the etymological analysis. Scientific novelty: for the first time carried out a comprehensive diachronic-synchronic analysis of convergent and divergent processes associated with the borrowing of Anglicisms and Americanisms into Czech. The practical value: the use in courses of history and modern state of Czech language, general linguistics, lexicography.
