Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the problems of physical degradation and decalcification of the soils in Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine and substantiation of the methods of their fertility improvement. There are shown the results of the transformation of agrophysical and water-physical properties of forest gray soil and podzolic chornozem as a result of their intensive utilization in agricultural production. It was found that the use of calcium compounds led to the increasing of the amount of absorbed calcium in soil absorbing complex allowed the improvement of soil texture and its resistance to water damages, which in turn leads to an increase in soil permeability. It was proved that the improvement agrophysical and water-physical properties occurred when both lime and organic fertilizers were applied. The deep tillage along with lime and manure the most influenced soils water content and met crops water demand, especially on the eroded soils. Positive chandes of agrophysical and water-physical properties of forest gray soil and podzolic chornozem enables improved soil fertility and crop productivity. The use of studied procedures on eroded soils allowed the increase of the profitability of crop cultivation and made it efficient. ё
