Essay

The research object - the functional condition of human blood leukocytes, subjected to low-temperature storage, in medium containing the low-molecular fraction (below 5 kDa) from cattle cord blood. The research aim - the justify the prospect of the low molecular fraction (5 kDa) from cattle cord blood in rehabilitating media to enhance the functional activity of human donor blood leukocytes after hypothermic or low-temperature storage. Research methods: cryobiological, cytochemical, immunological, clinical, flow cytometry and statistical methods. It was shown that the possibility of reconstitution of functional activity of human donor blood leukocytes after hypothermic or low-temperature storage in the medium containing low-molecular fraction (5 kDa) from cattle cord blood or "Actovegin". It was established that incubation of leukocytes after hypothermic storage and cryopreservation in the medium containing low-molecular weight fraction (5 kDa) from cattle cord blood contributed to the reconstitution of their phagocytic activity and increased the level of production of reactive oxygen species. The results obtained can be used to develop rehabilitating media containing the low-molecular fraction (below 5 kDa) from cattle cord blood or "Actovegin" for the purpose of reconstitution of functional activity of human donor blood leukocytes, subjected to hypothermic storage and cryopreservation.
