Public administration of providing transport safety. Theoretical study of mechanisms of public administration of transport safety and development of scientifically-based proposals for their improvement. Methods: structural and functional analysis, historical, comparative, monitoring, expert assessment, statistical analysis. Grounded theoretical and methodological foundations of the allocation of structural and functional components of transport safety. A performance level of transport security. Refined the concept of "traffic safety", "mechanisms of public administration of transport safety", "mechanisms of state management of transport security". The ways of improving the mechanisms of public administration of transport safety of Ukraine based on the analysis of international experience. Results implemented in practice of the public administration and in the educational process in higher education.
