Essay

The dissertation is dedicated to the investigation of mental and ethical problems and poetics of Yevgen Hutsalo's narratives created in the 60 ies - beginning of the 90 ies of the XXth century. The problem-thematic dominants and mental-ethical collisions of the author's narrative heritage have been outlined. It has been proved that the author interprets mental, ethical, social and psychological problems of the period from the point of view of universal human values. Genre-and-stylistic peculiarities, plot building specificity, compositional organizations means, genre modifications of the narrative, the narration types have been analyzed on the level of poetics. The dissertation proves that in Yevgen Hutsalo's narratives the realistic, psychological and lyrical means of artistic reality modeling are harmonically correlated. The conceptual images and the peculiarities of their interpretation by the author have been found in the structure of author's narratives. The specificity of national character modeling has been investigated. The thesis indicates that in the genre of the narrative Y. Hutsalo has experienced the creative evolution by passing through various stages of problem-thematic and format-and-content searching.
