Complex pharmacognostic research of garbanzo herb (Cicer arietinum L.) was carried out for the first time. The qualitative composition and quantitative contents of the basic groups’ biologically active substances were investigated.26 phenolic compounds were isolated in individual condition and their structure was determined. Two of these compounds (daidzein and genistein) were isolated from garbanzo herb for the first time, and nine compounds (caffeic, chlorogenic and neochlorogenic acids, dafnoretin, trefolin, apigenin, cosmosein, 5,7,4'-threemetoxyflavanon, genistein-7-glucoside) were isolated for the first time from the species of the genus Cicer L. 17 aminoacids, 11 fatty acids, 21 compounds of essential oil, 16 macro- and microelements were identified for the first time. A dynamic of flavonoids accumulation in garbanzo herb was studied and basing on it an optimal harvest time has been determined. Main morphological and anatomical diagnostic characteristics of the Cicer arietinum herb were established. Technologies of obtaining of dry extracts were developed. On the base of pharmacological research it has been established that extracts possess hepatoprotective, regenerative, haemostatic, diuretic and anabolic action. The following drafts of quality-control technology were developed: "The garbanzo herb", "Garbanzo herb's extract dry (GHE-1)" and "Garbanzo herb's extract dry (GHE-2)".
