Object - system of standardization support in the field of soils quality and protection. Purpose - develop the system of standardization support of the soils quality and protection aimed at realization of the soils protection means and soils quality investigation along with supporting their fertility preservation, targeted use, agriculture production yields and quality increasing, all of which will contribute to the realization of the land and soil protection laws. Methods - general scientific (systematic, integrative) and special research method (comparative) Theoretical results - the system of standardization support for the soils quality and protection is developed, the approaches are determined for shaping of international and interstate standardization bases and for building of the up-to-date national standardization base in this field. The interaction and interconsistency are investigated between the legislation acts and the standardization base, the analysis is given for the standard documentation of various levels, and the use is scientifically grounded for the agriculture lands (soils) certification system. Practical results - the system of standardization support for the soils quality and protection is proposed which covers principles, purposes and directions of the standardization support advancing in the field of soils quality and protection along with the pattern of the coordinated packages of standard documentation in this field. The principally new package of the standards on the agriculture lands (soils) certification is worked out and introduced into practice by the executive order of the Agrarian Policy Department of Ukraine "On the voluntary certification of agriculture lands (soils)", 2008 April 9, № 235. The results of the work are represented in the "List of the general standard documentation in the field of soil science, agrochemistry and soil protection" and the National Standard of Ukraine ДСТУ 4976:2008 Complex of standards in the field of soil protection. General provisions. Novelty - the need is confirmed and substantiated in the updating of the valid and developing of the new coordinated patterns of different-level standard documentation which are the components of the national standardization base developed in the field of soils quality and protection. The approaches are proposed for the shaping of the system of standardization support of soils quality and protection with the use of some theoretical and practical aspects of the international and interstate standardization bases. The system of standardization support is shaped which covers principles, purposes and directions of the standardization support advancing in the field of soils quality and protection along with the pattern of the coordinated packages of standard documentation in this field. The system of voluntary certification of agriculture lands is proposed and scientifically substantiated for the first time. Degree of application - the results of the work were used during the standardization works survey, formulating of the proposes to the central executive authorities concerned and the list of general kinds of works needed for the making of the Programs of standardization and metrology support for the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences (UAAS) offices, also for the informative-reference materials for the Bureau of Presidium of the UAAS. The general results of the work are introduced into the Concept of standardization development in the field of land (soil) protection, the Concept of standardization and normalization system in the field of stabile land use, ДСТУ 4976:2008 "Complex of standards in the field of soil protection. General provisions", the project of the Program of complex standardization in the field of soil science, agro chemistry and soil protection harmonized with the international standardization system and the project of the industry Program of standardization and normalization for the stabile land use and soil protection. The results of the work are recommended for use to the central executive authorities in the fields of land resources, agrarian politics and food, ecology and nature resources, to the State Science-Technology Center for the Soils Fertility Protection, its regional centers and to the farms with various patterns of ownership. Land users and lands owners are advised to use the proposed system of certification of agriculture lands. Some provisions of the thesis may be used in the teaching process during the courses of education in the fields of soil science, agrochemistry and land (soils) protection. The field is agriculture.
