Dissertation is devoted to the problem of improving the efficiency of sanatorium-resort rehabilitation in patients with COPD. The advanced study is devoted to investigation of influence of vitamin D deficiency upon formation of cytokine homeostasis disbalance, disorders of functional activity of the bronchial epithelium and increase severity of the disease (by the scale BODE) in patients with COPD. The presence of vitamin D deficiency in patients with COPD I-III degree in the stage of remission during the autumn-winter season forms the conditions for the progression of subclinical systemic cytokine-dependent inflammatory reaction and lung fibrosis, as well as increase of imbalance of T-cell immunity. The scientific ground of suitable application of combined use of replacement therapy with vitamin D and UV radiation is given and clinical efficacy of this combination for correction of subclinical systemic inflammatory reaction in patients with COPD I-III degree in stage of remission and vitamin D-deficiency during sanatorium-resort rehabilitation is proved.
