The object of the research is the word-building subsystem of the nouns with the locative semantics in New Ukrainian language of the end of the ХVII - beginning of the ХХI century The aim of the work is to describe the dynamics of the word-forming structure of the nomina loci in New Ukrainian language of the end of the ХVII - beginning of the ХХI century. Scientific novelty. First in Ukrainian linguistics the combined description of the history of the formation of the derivative system of the nouns with the locative semantics in New Ukrainian language of the end of the ХVII - beginning of the ХХI century was made in the dissertation. The word-building formants which have come out of use and which have appeared (acquired new meaning) were revealed in the work. The word-building productivity and motivating bases of word-building activity were determined, the principal laws governing the development of nomina loci subsystem were examined. The practical meaning of the results which have been obtained. In the linguadidactics one can use the actual material and the conclusions of the work while writing text-books and manuals, working out courses on the history of the Ukrainian language and word-building for the High School. Philological-students can use it in the process of preparing of the undergraduate's thesises and graduation works.
