Essay

Dissertation devoted to study a possibility to reduce the duration of anticoagulation therapy prior cardioversion. It also investigate the markers of thrombi formation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation-flutter. Showed that in a case of TEE (transesophageal echocardiography) guided cardioversion it's possible to shorten the term of the anticoagulation in the 60,3 % of the patients and reduce it by 29 days at mean. Determined, that the markers of thrombi formation and left atrial appendage function may be predicted by TTE (transthoracic echocardiography). Determined the significant association with stroke in the case of simultaneously existence of the carotid stenosis => 50 % and SEC (spontaneous echo contrast) 4+. Proved that by the using of TEE, carotid duplex scanning and TTE it's possible to distinguish patients with high risk of vascular events.
