Essay

The paper deals with the results of researching the economic and biological peculiarities of 9 new black currant varieties conducted during 2005-2008 and the estimation of their adaptability to biotic and abiotic factors of the Ukraine's Right-Bank Lisosteppe. The author has presented the characteristics of them concerning marketability and berries consumer gualities and content of major nutrients in them, determined the cultivars favorable for the mechanized harvesting according to limited and unlimited traits, the best soil management systems and methods of the bush pruning for the formation of yield. On the basis of the analysis of the economic and biological characteristics, and economic efficiency of the production the cvs "Pamyati Leonida Mykhalevs'kogo", "Universytets'ka" and "Leleka" are recommended to be grown in the Ukraine's Right-Bank Lisosteppe for mechanized harvesting.
